A corpmate of mine got ripped off by RagnarH of Shinra in a scam that involved the selling of characters for isk.
This is utterly beyond belief and only goes against the attempts of CCP to stop players selling accounts and characters for real life cash.

Well, not really, I personally couldn't give that much of a toss.
I just think that this kind of behaviour goes against what CCP is trying to do and only serves to make auction sites a more attractive option to those who do choose to buy characters.

I couldn't give a toss who gave you isk or how much. I couldn't give a toss who you are in game. I don't care what happens to your account or characters. If you want 250m so bad you can have it off me twice if you want to be that much of a charity case.
Point is you scammed using an out of game tactic to get a player, not a character, to give you in-game currency. The character you were purportedly selling has absolutely nothing to do with your main character. Therefore its the player, not the character that is at fault here. The point of my post is that CCP have allowed character trading for isk as an alternative to the selling of accounts on ebay etc. What you have done shows the community that this is not a safe option at the moment. It is a breach of the community's trust. What I am asking CCP to do is change the process to make it secure.
You can scam my characters all you like - thats a part of the game. If you had scammed senz for a battleship bpo that turned out to be a probe bpc then I would say "well done, good scam".
The fraud you are engaged in has no place in an online game and I would say with confidence that 95% of the community agrees with me.

They have also apologised on our TS. Honourable actions indeed.
